Hi, I’m Paty. Educator, explorer, and a firm believer that the most compelling stories emerge when things get a little messy. My background as a teacher has been meticulously woven from threads of education, linguistics, and special educational needs, yet my true alma mater is the world itself. I navigate between classrooms and global adventures with equal fervor, convinced that profound learning seldom occurs solely within four walls. Beyond the accolades and certifications, I am defined by the passion I inject into my work and the way every experience—planned or otherwise—eventually crystallizes into a lesson, and subsequently, a story. By conventional standards, I am a 'terrible' traveler: I wander off-course by design, rely far too heavily on my intuition, and habitually say yes to plans that border on the irresponsible. I’m the one dancing in unlikely places, braving cuisines that are far too spicy, and gravitating toward situations that begin with 'this wasn't the plan' and end up being the highlight of the journey. I surrender to the rhythm of foreign streets, spontaneous conversations, and serendipity. I pivot my plans, improvise my routes, and have learned time and again that patience, humor, and a touch of stubbornness open more doors than any guidebook ever could. Sometimes I return with improbable photographs, other times with anecdotes that defy explanation—but always with the exhilarating sense of having truly lived. This is my travel philosophy: devoid of instruction manuals, fueled by raw curiosity, and rooted in the conviction that relinquishing control—and embracing laughter—is a remarkably profound way to learn. This blog exists at that very intersection: the crossroads of teaching and living without a rigid script. It’s a space where I share insights gathered both inside and outside the classroom—ideas battle-tested in reality and reflections born from stepping out of my comfort zone to view the world with a hint of irony and a wealth of wonder. Maestra, exploradora y firme creyente de que las mejores historias empiezan cuando algo se desordena. Mi formación como maestra se ha ido tejiendo entre la educación, los idiomas y la atención a la diversidad, pero mi verdadera escuela está en el mundo. Me muevo entre aulas y aventuras con la misma pasión, convencida de que aprender no siempre ocurre entre cuatro paredes. Más allá de los títulos, me define cómo vivo lo que hago y la forma en que cada experiencia acaba convirtiéndose en aprendizaje y en historia. Viajo fatal según los estándares normales: me pierdo a propósito, confío demasiado en mi intuición y digo que sí a planes que suenan ligeramente irresponsables. Bailo donde no toca, pruebo cosas que pican más de la cuenta y acabo metida en situaciones que empiezan con “esto no estaba previsto” y terminan siendo lo mejor del viaje. Me dejo arrastrar por calles, conversaciones y casualidades. Cambio planes, improviso rutas y confirmo una y otra vez que la paciencia, el humor y un punto de cabezonería abren más puertas que cualquier guía turística. A veces vuelvo con fotos imposibles, otras con anécdotas difíciles de explicar, pero siempre con la sensación de haber vivido de verdad. Me muevo así: sin manual de instrucciones, con curiosidad desatada y la firme convicción de que perder el control un poco —y reírse mucho— también es una forma muy seria de aprender. Este blog nace justo ahí: en el cruce entre enseñar y vivir sin tanto guion. Un lugar donde comparto lo que aprendo dentro y fuera del aula, ideas que funcionan porque han sido probadas en la vida real, y reflexiones que surgen cuando sales de la zona cómoda y miras el mundo con un poco de ironía y mucha curiosidad. Porque aprender no siempre sigue el plan… y ahí es donde empieza lo interesante.
